ABOUT THE GRAFTON LAKE HOUSE (T00502)

This waterfront escape offers stunning views of the lake and includes plenty of room and amenities for entertaining family and friends. A focus on energy efficiency and environmental consciousness further the allure of this plan. In addition to a refined yet unassuming exterior, the inside of the Grafton Lake House is as breathtaking as the landscape around it.

Minimizing its environmental impact was important to the owners of this house. Therefore, they used structural insulated panels (SIPs), solar hot water collection and an open loop geothermal heating system. By doing so, this residence has significantly lowered its dependence on fossil fuels. The bulk of the lighting uses LED technology, as well.

A covered front entryway opens to the main floor of the home, which flows into a beautiful great room. A wall window, cathedral ceilings, and a gorgeous stone fireplace add elegance to the Grafton Lake House. To the right of the entry is a spacious two-car garage that connects to the home via the mudroom. Conveniently located nearby is the laundry. Moving through the main floor, there is an office space across from the butler’s pantry. Meanwhile, a large L-shaped island provides extra room for prep work. A spacious kitchen flows into a formal dining area before connecting to the great room.

The other wing of the main floor holds a large, master suite. This space includes a walk-in closet that is big enough to be its own room, a spacious bathroom and the master bedroom. The bedroom has access to a covered porch where the hot tub looks out over the water. Moving to the upstairs level, there is a small loft space and another office, while the basement is made up of a rec room, three bedrooms and bathrooms, a workshop and a wine cellar. This waterside retreat truly has all the amenities while addressing green concerns.
